Frequently asked questions
Brief answers about our services, the IER and how we work.
The Independent External Reviewer is a professional accredited by the Financial Information Unit (FIU) who performs the independent review of the anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing system of obligated subjects. They issue reports submitted to the FIU and contribute to regulatory compliance and the transparency of the compliance program.
Obligated subjects are entities and individuals whose activities fall under the anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing law: financial institutions, non-financial entities (exchange houses, real estate, etc.), professionals (lawyers, accountants, notaries in certain acts), and other regulated sectors. The regulations define the full list according to activity.
We respond to initial enquiries within 24 to 48 business hours. For proposals or scope of services depending on project complexity, we arrange a meeting or call and send a proposal within an agreed timeframe. For IER audits and compliance projects, timelines are defined according to the schedule agreed with the client.
After first contact, we hold a meeting to understand your needs (risk assessment, policies, training, IER, etc.). From there we prepare a proposal with scope, methodology and timeline. Once approved, we proceed according to the type of service: assessment, documentation, training, audit or report issuance. We maintain fluid communication and deliverables within agreed times.
No, we provide services globally. Although our headquarters are in Buenos Aires, we work with organizations and obligated subjects worldwide. We adapt our compliance advisory to both international standards and the specific regulations of each jurisdiction where our clients operate.
